About Us

The 2008 Desert Classic National Tournament is hosted by James and Sarah Cool, dba Neighborhoods Enterprises. Mr. and Mrs. Cool were the hosts of the first three Desert Classic Invitational events. Previously, the Desert Classic was hosted as a function of the University of Arizona Mock Trial program. Since their graduation and matriculation away from UA Mock Trial, Jimmy and Sarah have elected to continue hosting the Desert Classic as a not-for-profit enterprise, this time in association with the American Mock Trial Association and Arizona State Mock Trial. Hosting this event is an immense pleasure and honor for Sarah and Jimmy and they are thrilled to welcome all participants to Tucson.

Sarah and Jimmy are both law students at Arizona State. They both completed t heir undergraduate work with degrees in Education; Sarah with an emphasis in Math and Social Studies and Jimmy in English. In addition, Sarah is over 2/3 of the way through a Masters program in Educational Leadership which she hopes to complete before finishing law school. As competitors in mock trial, Jimmy and Sarah won a combined 18 individual awards and led the University of Arizona to a 16th place ranking nationally prior to their graduation.  As law students, Sarah has recently won the prestigious Jenckes Closing Argument Competition.   The couple also competes in the National Trial Competition and AAJ Student Trial Competition.   Along with Ryan and Laura Seelau, James and Sarah also host a one-day mock trial skills camp for high school students.
